The Director wanted color throughout this musical. She wanted a story book feel to the production. I achieved this buy prioritizing the first two rows of areas with lights to allow for the most control in the dancing areas. While still achieving enough control in the other acting areas to put out the colors desired throughout the show. We used color in a way to mirror a story book. We also wanted this to look and feel like a classical musical from the 50’s, sticking to the script's initial intent. Static musical numbers regarding lights but utilized certain accents enough to make a modern feel.
