This show the director wanted a realist approach to the production. We also wanted the gas lighting to parallel with the wife slowly going insane as she is being “gaslit”. We didn’t want to use color until we see the mind of the protagonist finally go. Though we used color, we still utilized the color in a way that didn’t break the realism of the production until it was called for.
