Two guys writing a musical about two guys writing a musical about two guys writing a musical. This small scale musical production was an amazing metatheatrical experience. The lights were really alive in this production. The director wanted the lights to be another character in the show. I spent time with my follow spots and programmer to achieve this. Me and my programmer finely tuned the cue timing to be as comedic as possible. I also worked with my follow spot operators to perfect the timing of the follow spots. Something the director wanted also was color to show that we are in the “creative world” of the musical and wanted a more realist approach to the straight parts of the production.
